Discover AURA Podcast: Giving Voice to Student Stories

At Algoma University Students’ Union (AUSU), student voices are at the heart of everything they do. With a commitment to creating a fulfilling and safe university experience, AUSU provides various programs and services to meet the needs of the student community. One of the initiatives that stands out is the AURA Podcast, a platform that gives students the opportunity to share their stories and experiences in a captivating and entertaining way.

Led by the Communications and Marketing Lead, along with a dedicated student podcast developer and a team of volunteers, AURA Podcast releases a season of seven episodes throughout each term. The podcast features segments such as messages from students, tea time discussions, and skill shares, offering a diverse range of content to engage listeners. In line with AUSU’s mission to amplify student voices, the upcoming year will see a particular focus on providing a platform for students to share their stories through The Sentient, a creative zine that offers publishing opportunities to students. The team at AUSU is excited to welcome a Working Group of volunteers in 2024 to further support the goals of The Sentient and contribute to the growth and success of the zine. By showcasing the talent, experiences, and perspectives of students, both The Sentient and AURA Podcast play a crucial role in building a sense of community and connection within the campus. As these platforms continue to evolve and flourish, they serve as valuable resources for students to express themselves, connect with their peers, and inspire others. Through the power of storytelling and creative expression, AURA Podcast and The Sentient are shaping a dynamic and inclusive space where student voices are heard, valued, and celebrated.
